Over the past 35 years, we have developed six key areas of expertise in a wide variety of contexts and cropping systems, in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders of the food systems.
Development of agroecology and concepts
Being involved in the design of key concepts and studying the development of agroecology in different contexts represent key steps to increase our understanding of agroecology and its realities.
Cropping system diversification and ecosystem services
Our team works to promote an agroecological transition by making the most of natural processes. We also develop pioneer research link to perennial herbaceous plants.
Agroecology and soil health
Our team works on organic farming and soil conservation in France. We develop research directly on farmers’ fields, in particular through the development of soil observation tools.
Biodiversity and crop production
Our team works on the design and evaluation of agricultural practices that preserve, or even increase, cultivated and non-cultivated biodiversity in agroecosystems at various scales from plot to landscape level.
Agroecological fish farming
Our team has been working for over a decade to develop an agroecological management approach for fish ponds.
Sustainable food systems and supply chains
Analyzing the sustainability of food systems and their territorialization are two key issues for the agroecological transition. Our team has developed original work on these topics.
