CLAS lands in Berlin at the Landscape 2024 Conference
Ioanna Mouratiadou and Edwige Fain Marion had the pleasure to present several research activities of the CLAS and ISARA projects at the Landscape 2024 Conference held in Berlin during 17-19 September.
On the first day of the conference, Ioanna Mouratiadou presented the Horizon Europe PATH2DEA project and some first results of the assessment of the advantages and limitations of digital tools to support agroecology. That was a lively session with lots of intriguing questions on the topic and fruitful discussions! Get a glimpse at the Event Movie of Landscape 2024 Conference (0:49-0:54). This work is conducted in collaboration with colleagues from Wageningen University, Agroecology Europe, University of Hohenheim, FiBL, Sant’Anna school of advanced studies and others. CLAS/ISARA colleagues Olumide Adedeji, Baptiste Grard, and Alexander Wezel are part of the PATH2DEA ISARA team.
On the closing day of the conference, Ioanna Mouratiadou chaired a “rich” session on the socio-economic performance of agroecology.
As part of her introduction to the session, she set the scene by presenting some results of the recently published study ‘The socio-economic performance of agroecology. A review.’
In this session, Edwige Fain Marion presented the project PERFECO, funded by TERRA ISARA, to assess the economic performance of agroecology in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.
The session included a variety of other stimulating presentations delving into the economics of agroecology with topics like agroforestry in Scotland, the agroecological transition in Burkina Faso, land use modelling in Austria, and potential future scenarios for the Common Agricultural Policy.
The conference was a thought-provoking interdisciplinary event bringing together experts working on the topic of the conference “Agroecosystems in Transformation: Visions, Technologies and Actors”. The participation of CLAS colleagues with several contributions allowed showcasing the diversity of topics we are working on and strengthening ties with this vibrant and engaged scientific community.
